Brain Audio’s brief for this piece was to to craft a sonic world that feels both authentic to the period and truly immersive for the listener.

To capture the genuine aural texture of Regency life, our sound design process began with bespoke field recordings. We travelled to a stately home in the West Country to record foundational pre-production sounds — the subtle clink of glasses in a grand hall, the distinct swish of period silks, and the sharp tap of heels on antique wooden floors. These organic sounds form the bedrock of the listening experience.

We worked with composer Morgan Kibby to seamlessly integrate her score with the immersive sound design. This partnership ensured that the music doesn't just accompany the drama, but is perfectly projected in the intimate emotional environment of the story.

From the very outset, the project was mixed natively in Dolby Atmos, leveraging our specialised 7.1.4 and 5.1.4 mixing suites at our studios. This commitment allowed us to create a truly three-dimensional, spatial soundscape for the listener.

The production has been met with significant critical acclaim, including widespread five-star reviews and high praise from leading publications such as The Guardian and The Observer.
