Brain Audio created the music and sound content for this critically acclaimed multi-technology immersive experience in London.

Using a wide range of immersive technologies this experience takes you through various “dream worlds” exploring different states of sleep and sub-consciousness.

The music brief was to explore these different dream worlds with some underlying thematic material and to manipulate and heighten various emotional states for the user as the experience develops. Joy, Sorrow, Fear, Hope, Life and Death. The presence of android-like semi-human performers “The Somnai” were also a large part of the experience. These performers (human in reality!) would be your guide through the experience.

We explored the hypothesis of Uncanny valley when arriving at our musical aesthetic. Elements that sit between human and synthetic in a disarming way.

SOMNAI is featured by UK Research and Innovation as one of the most influential British immersive productions from the last twenty years.
