Tom’s work in sound and music often collides live instrumental performance with the use of extended electro-acoustic and film sound techniques. Tom mainly works in sound and music for film, television and animation, and is only really tempted out of the studio by long-time collaborators Filter Theatre, the London Snorkelling Team (official orchestra of the london institute of ‘Pataphysics) and his latest collaborative project Clay.fm.

Tom is originally from Cornwall, and moved to London in 1996 to study classical composition with professor Malcolm Singer at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Tom’s influences in music are deep rooted in the avante garde. His particular skill is combining risky techniques and esoteric knowledge to make scores that are both striking, modern and accessable.

Tom’s recent work incudes mixing and scoring several feature length artist’s films, writing interactive orchestral scores for major Hollywood studios and writing TV soundtracks.
